Pentimento
Mexico, 2013
Performatic Theater Company founded in 2013, based in Mexico City and directed by Isabel Toledo.
The search to open ways of communication between strangers through theater leads them to develop intimate scenic devices in which the spectators participate in the construction of the piece. The stories of everyday life have become their working material and the finding of meeting points on the border of reality, fiction and archive.
They have created seven performative pieces in Mexico and Buenos Aires: La edad de creer en esas cosas (2013), Nathalie Correspondance (2014), No hay futuro posible (2015-2017-2020), PLAY (2017), Las Gordas (2019), Cartas sonoras para cuerpos celestes (2020-2021) and Nosotras somos el tiempo (2021).
They have participated in festivals and international residencies in spaces such as the Museo Universitario del Chopo (CDMX, Mexico), the Zürcher Theater Spektakle (Zurich, Switzerland), the Kunstenfestivaldasarts (Brussels, Belgium) and the Live Arts Exchange LAX Festival (Los Angeles, United States), Mexico: Performing Arts Encounter 2018 Program, in the 39th Mexican National Theater Showcase, in the Catedra Bergman, and Teatro UNAM.
Recently the project Cartas sonoras para cuerpos celestes was presented at The Metropolitan Museum of Art (New York, United States)
