Director, producer and cultural manager
Beneficiary of the 2017-2018 Jovenes Creadores Program, Isabel is an actress, director, producer and cultural manager. Her autobiographical projects talk about her generation and their perception about the past, the idea of future and their personal relationships. Creating scenic devices for a few spectators, she proposes a sway between fiction and reality.
In 2008 she enrolls the Centro Universitario de Teatro at the Universidad Nacional Autónoma de México, where she studied her Performance degree. In 2012, she lived at the city of Cordoba, Argentina where she completed her professional studies at the Faculty of Arts of Universidad Nacional de Cordoba and is in the certification process of her Master Degree in Theater and Performatic Arts at Universidad Nacional de las Artes in Buenos Aires, Argentina.
She has taken workshops and seminars with Emilio García Wehbi, Mauricio Kartún, Pippo del Bono, Akhe Group; Ileana Diéguez and Maricel Álvarez, among others. As an actress she has collaborated with stage managers like Jorge A. Vargas, Mario Espinoza, Hugo Arrevillaga, Lydia Margules and Mariana Giménez.
Inside the Pentimento theater company she performed as actress and director of the theater project for dometic places La edad de creer en esas cosas and its adaptation in to stage sets in 2013. During 2014 she developed PLAY and worked in the creation and co-direction of the epistolary theater project Nathalie correspondance. Her last project was in 2015, she did the telephone theater project No hay futuro posible in Buenos Aires, Argentina in collaboration with actors from Mexico, Chile, Puerto Rico and Argentina.
Since 2012 she has been working as a teacher at the Centro Educativo del Museo de la Memoria y Tolerancia creating through theater workshops for children, approaching social aspects and violence prevention issues. During 2014 she was recognize as beneficiary of the Creadores Escénicos program for the National Mexican Fund for Culture and Arts. In 2015 and 2016 she was a guest artist in the European festivals residences Zürcher Theater Spektakle, Zurich, Switzerland and the Kunsten Festival des Arts, Brussels, Belgium.
She is currently academic director and coordinator of acting of Centro de Cinematografía y Actuación Dolores del Río, A. C.

She is currently in the process of getting her Masters degree in Theater and Performatic Arts in the Universidad Nacional de las Artes (UNA) Buenos Aires, Argentina. She is a graduate student of Centro Universitario de Teatro in the Universidad Nacional Autónoma de México. From 2015 to 2017 she lived in Buenos Aires, Argentina where she produced Mexico Pintoresco performance. She was co-director of the “Una Anatomía de la Sombra” by Alejandro Tantanian and attended complementary formation classes with Rubén Szuchmacher, Maricel Álvarez and Emilio García Wehbi. Since 2013 she has been member of the Pentimento theater group co-directing projects in Buenos Aires, Mexico City and Los Angeles, California such as Nathalie Correspondance, No hay futuro posible and PLAY. As an actress she has worked under the direction of Clarissa Malheiros, Boris Schoemman and Rubén Szuchmacher, among others. From 2011 to 2014 she was a member of Teatro Ojo group and also collaborated with Teatro Línea de Sombra. She is currently living in San Pedro Cholula, where she is developing the project “Desbordando los límites entre lenguajes”, sponsored by the National Mexican Fund for Culture and Arts with which she has created two interdisciplinary scenic workshops programs for children and teenagers: Performatic Theater Workshop for children and Autobiographical Documentary Theater Workshop for teens.
Las Desconocidas es un espacio independiente de formación, investigación y producción de las artes escénicas en México y Argentina donde se prioriza la creación escénica propiciando el intercambio entre expresiones artísticas. Este proyecto tiene como objetivo generar un espacio de construcción que posibilite el crecimiento y la vinculación entre artistas de diversas nacionalidades. Desde 2015 han organizado, en colaboración con distintas instituciones como la Embajada Argentina, Obrera Centro, Casa del Teatro y el Museo Universitario del Chopo, seminarios de formación escénica y performática en México y Buenos Aires. Actualmente el proyecto se ha expandido hacia la creación de las artes escénicas realizando la labor de gestión y producción de la pieza Todo lo que está a mi lado del director argentino Fernando Rubio que se presenta por primera vez en México.
