LOS SONIDOS DEL CONFINAMIENTO
How to make a play like Pentimento
The workshop proposes to trace a route based on Pentimento’s creative methodology to collectively create a sound piece that intervenes in our environment through poetic and fictional links. During the four sessions, we will carry out exercises of documentary creation that will investigate the poetic universe of the participants through sound. We will work from instructions that can be followed by others to propose optics, corporealities and discourses for bodies in confinement.
At the beginning of March 2020 in Mexico thousands of feminist women took over the public space in different cities of the country to protest for the policies that have not changed, to mourn those who are no longer here, to shout anger, to break the world, to celebrate life. The following day, there was a national women’s strike, during which, those of us who could, decided to stay in our homes and disappear, through absence, to make ourselves present. This political action became an echo in the evolution of the pandemic.
It is in this confinement in which the questions about our bodies begin to have another meaning and we consider it fundamental to give voice to these stories through the construction of a collective sound piece.
